This contest will feature the first 500 words and the 35 word pitch of completed and polished manuscripts written by Latinx. While I will not ask you to identify yourself, I would like to ask you to please keep it in mind that this exclusively for Latinx writers and to work on the diversity in publishing issue.
The entries will be open on midnight EDT August 16th, 2016, until 11:59pm of the 17th of August.
During the entry window, submissions should be e-mailed to pitchamericasubmissions(at)gmail(dot)com, with SUBMISSION + age group and genre on the subject (Example: SUBMISSION, YA Fantasy). Entries sent before and after the window will not qualify.
Entry Formatting Example:
Name: Your name (use a [Fancy Author] if you’re using a pen name)
Genre: Age group/Category
Title: Your Title
Word Count: XX,XXX words (neared to the next thousand)
Themes: This is optional, but you should include it here if your story features LGBT themes, immigration, fat representation, disability, or if it’s #ownvoices.
Your 35-Word Pitch:
Your first 500 words: Prologues or no prologues, you decide.
When sending your first 500 words, do not finish in the middle of a sentence. Go to the end of it, until ~510 maximum.
